DanielC Posted January 4, 2008 Report Share Posted January 4, 2008 These are numbers that I just pulled out of .... the top of my head. Idle 600-700 rpm, manual transmission. Advance, start at 10 degrees before top dead center. If the engine knocks on hard acceleration, retard the timing some. If the engine seems sluggish, advance the timing a little, 1 or 2 degrees, until it knocks. Retard the timing from there. Once again, these are just wild "butt" guesses, but they should get you started. Quote Link to comment

Remember that it is an old motor and that factory specs would only be a starting point anyways, would need fine tuned from that point.
