musty_elbow
American Racing made a few of there wheels in Magnesium.for the 4 lug cars. 1. The Libre 2. The Lemans 3. The Silverstone (eight spokes) Empi also made a Magnesium wheel for the Datsun. It was also an eight spoke. Link to comment
thisismatt
Any particular reason you want these? Have you considered the new Libre knock-offs that are becoming available? Link to comment
ggzilla
1. Look good on old-school cars 2. Super-light weight Link to comment
thisismatt
1. Look good on old-school cars 2. Super-light weight You missed my point. There are new replicas available, and likely will be versions in bigger sizes for modern (easily available) tires. I know, I know - old school wheels are cool and they often don't make them like they used to, but these older libres are just that...OLD. I've seen them cracked and so corroded that I would never put them on a vehicle I cared anything about. Anyways, just throwing this out there in case you didn't know. http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=14884 Link to comment
musty_elbow
I have seen the knock off Libres, not bad. I am looking for Magnesium Libres because they look old and have plenty of Patina, Just my preference, Thats all. I have a set of Aluminum Libres on my 1200 right now 13x5 front 13x7 back. Which looks period correct, except for the rack. And yes,a lot of people have warned me about running Magnesium wheels. Prone to catch fire, crack, etc. etc. Im not sure about that. Because I have run a set of Magnesium Empis on my 1200 for about a year, and I never had a problem with them. Link to comment
