weber carb

I have a 71 521 and want to get a weber carb for it. where is the best place to get one and which one should i get?

Look in the classifieds here, pierce manifolds, weber carbs direct, ebay, craigs list...

 

For a 71 521 all you will need is a Weber 32/36. Anything bigger then that and it will be a waste unless you do some work on the head

If you truck runs fine dont worry about it, get the kit and when the carb goes bad then swap weber on

i just cant get the hitach i tuned right. its frustrating. any ideas? maybe a tunning guide or something along those lines...

just adjust the mixture screw at the base of the carb .

turn it IN till it start running rough/ turn it OUT till it runs rough then pick the middle.

 

make sure the accel pump works. everythime you cycle the gas ,yiull see a squirt of gas in the main barrel.

 

maybe you need to adjust the points and make sure the shaft bushing is not loose , and just do a valve ck and ck intake carb bolts for tightens.( NOT too tight!!)

 

also see where the choke position is.

If manual this is EZ if eleltric make sure its open all the way when HOT. Choke flap open.
