MikeRL411
I see that you have the stock wheel chocks. Do you have the tool bag and the rest of the tool bag contents [jack base, jack crank and lug nut wrench]? Looks like a good buy. Quote Link to comment

Don't give up on the block! If in doubt, hot tank it, you would be surprised at how durable the 1600cc type R engine block is. Quote Link to comment
67wrx
water pump is toast full of rust and corrision Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
water pump is toast full of rust and corrision Probably the result of not running with at least 50% antifreeeze solution. Basically you have 3 choices. If the shaft still turns, fill the cavity with Naval Jelly and go away for 2 or 3 days then flush, rinse, flush again and make sure the shaft still turns. Coat the interiorwith rusty metal primer, air dry in the sun for a day or two and reinstall. Get a water pump rebuild kit from Nissan, I have the part number somewhere if you need it, and rebuild. Unfortunately the aluminum RL411 water pump shaft only comes out of the pump body from the front after removing the shaft wire keper and the impeller. If your impeller is as rusty as it sounds it will probably crack when you apply pressure on the gear puller. The good news is that if you can remove the impeller, the kit has all the mechanical parts you need, but I don't remember if the front and rear paper gaskets for the pump rear cover are included. Probably your best bet is to get a 1600 roadster water pump, use a gear puller to remove the fan spinner, pull the spinner off your original waterpump and press it on until an inch of the shaft protrudes. All pulleys will then line up. If you are leery of modifying the pump, the water pump pulley from a Ford V8 or an aftermarket chromed 2 row pulley for a Chevy V8 can have their bolt holes slotted to fit the Datsun bolt circle. You will need a spacer, the "ring" from the 2 piece fan of the J13 is just right. Then comes the challenge, get the thinnest flex fan you can find and pray that you have good engine and transmission mounts. Good luck! 1 Quote Link to comment
