Start up issues?

Recommended Posts

My family bought this car new, and we've seldom had problems with it. Like, ever. With over 250k miles the only parts we've had to replace are a timing belt and an alternator. Well, lately it's been having a cranking issue - every time we drive it a little harder than usual, such as cruising at 80 down the interstate (the speed limit is 70-75, so don't go off calling me jackass driver), and then park it, it won't crank up. The battery and alternator are both fine, as well as the starter. Any ideas as to what's causing this?

The terminals have been cleaned meticulously numerous times. And yes, won't crank at all unless jumped. When I turn the key to crank it, it won't turn over whatsoever, but I can hear the fans kick in.

I think he meant he doesn't know what the starter solenoid is :P

Exactly, ha.
