I believe it will. I've seen the adjustable slave push rod on a B tranny. And it is only used in the older F4W63 clutch arm with the hole in the end. Measure the length from the slave pushrod to the pivot ball and the overall length and I'll measure my B type and compare them.

Here's the measurements I got:

2" from the end to the face of the slave (not counting the portion the recesses into the bore).

7/8" from where the pivot ball touches the fork (goes through the hole).

My understanding is that when doing engine or transmission swaps that deviate from a stock configuration you must always keep the clutch components together - specifically the throw-out bearing and sleeve. I'm hoping that by just swapping the fork over to the new 5-speed my geometry wont change much.

I probably should have mentioned this in the original post. My combination is; '72 510 wagon with L20B and stock 4 speed.

The small dent on the far left is where the slave push rod sits. The dimple to the right of my hand is where the pivot ball rides. The distance between these two is just under 4 3/4". The distance from the pivot ball to the center of the installed release bearing is 2 1/2". As long as these two measurements are close then the arms will work the same.

FYI the rubber boot for the 510 4spd is identical to the later 620/280z/zx/Maxima/720 4 and 5 speed and all 610/710 4 speeds so I think it will work.

Just got the swap done last night and my measurements from the 4-speed fork were the same. The only difference is the hole for the adjustable rod. Using the the same clutch, throwout bearing and collar, slave cylinder and adjustable rod, I was able to use the 4-speed fork on the replacement 5-speed without ANY modification or adjustment. It was a direct swap. And the boots were identical - just like you said.

Thread concluded. ;)
