Heat is a miracle when it comes to getting bolts free. If you're able to get a torch on the female end, then the metal will expand and allow you to get on the bolt/screw with vice-grips and carefully turn them out. Patience is the key here. If you get frustrated and either round off the gripping surface or worse yet, break the bolt off flush, then you're looking at drilling.

another thing is take your time, when the bolt gets real hard to turn, go the other direction for a turn or so, you are basicly taking the rust and road grime off, so take your time but on these trucks, a broke bolt will happen, maybe allot of them.

Thanks guys! Patience is a virtue here. I've been trying to get the 5 bolts on the top of the valance loose too. So far I've snapped two and got one off. The snapped ones didn't really give ant warning either. they were turning and just broke off.

I'll keep at it.
