ronnny
83-85? i think 81s had lights under the tailgate. I do not really like campers but ifin you have the need it is nice to have. I have one that matches my 84. I feel like my king cab has so much more room than the regular. Wtg. good trucks with weak front ends. I want a good score on a 4x4. Quote Link to comment
sinner720st
nice grab. that truck looks straight. is that an 85 or 86... details, why not lower it and cruise. i still use mine as a truck. haul my dirtbike and full camp gear anywhere i want to go. Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
prolly gonna lower it about 3 inches or so put titans on it throw a paint job on it and later on rebuild the motor someday. its got pretty high miles on it still runs good just be a nice touch later on down the road. Not '83 or '84, the top of box does not have the outward facing lip or exposed bed hooks, also the rust prone horizontal box seam is not present along the contour line. Could be a '85 or '86. Who's the cutie? Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
its a 85 thats my 4 year old daughter any time i take a picture she insists she has to be in the shot. maybe she will be a model someday and give me some of that big money! lol. just outta curiosity sake anyone know where you can get like a remanufactured longblock? thinking i might go that route when the time comes. jesusno2
well i picked up a used z24 today tore it down the bores are in really nice shape havent got into the crank/rods yet. my plan is to hone it and re bearing re ring it. im thinking of maybe using a L series head on this motor possibly i kinda prefer the u67 casting. would this be possible with the stock pistons and what compression would that be? I built a lz2.2 back in the day but the 2.4 is gonna require some welding on a timing cover i assume for the added deck height the 2.4 has roughly 3/4 of an inch so ive read. anyone used this combo that might have a few tips?
