71 dash in a 69 swap??

i searched but did not find any thing so my 71 is rusted pretty bad and a buddy says i can have his 69 which seems to be alot less rust but i need to swap my 71 dash and any other good stuff to the 69.i know its been done before just not sure what all i have to take out? do i have to swap out the whole metal dash cage? will it come out fairly easy?

ya its not that bad harness will be diff too for the gauges. There should be like 4 or 5 bolts on the rear under side to firewall, 2 on the sides and the bolts to the heater core

I've done a few, they are not bad at all, but you need everything.

 

It only takes a few hours to do it.

 

Keep in mind, technically it's illegal, because you are not allowed to switch the vin plates from one dash to another. (nobody has ever hassled me though.)
