Pacific coast Datsun
Charlie how hard would it be to snag a door lock from the yard, have a key made then make the hole & mount to the gas door? Some sort of "catch" would be needed for the lock to slide behind but not difficult  Do it the Ratsun way :D Link to comment
Charlie69
Hi Mark, I have a 521 fuel door, lock, & key that I could use the lock from. On the 520 fuel door there is a raised area for opening the door that would need to be flattened out. Do you know how to shrink metal? I would need some help on flattening this out with out trashing the metal. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide. Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Kool. Why not use the 521 door as it is now ? If you need to flatten out the raised part on the 520 door make a few cuts in it using a small cut off wheel, lay the door over a 2x4 & gently hammer it flat. Then simply tack weld the cuts back up  I know Daniel [slam] has a welder now maybe he can help. Link to comment
Charlie69
The welder slam was using is Ben's (Fun5Ten). Thank you for the pointers on how to flatten. The 521 cover is angled on 2 corners the 520 is angled on 1 corner. Link to comment
