matwood
I've got a 521 and I'm trying to track down the owner w/ the VIN number. The lady at the DMV says that the 6 digit number stamped on the tag is not found in their database. Can someone give me some insight on this, possibly the location of the frame stamped vin? Or possibly how else the VIN may be formatted?? I'm in New Mexico so any of you local dudes feel free to chime in! Im in a real pinch, time is of the essence. Thanks! Madison Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
The number is more than 6 digits! Should read something like "L521xxxxxx". Maybe one more "X". But it starts with L521, as long is it's really a '69. If it's a 70+ it will read PL521XXXXXX. Quote Link to comment
67411sss
Is the truck from NM? if not then you won't find it in their database. Is there any old paperwork in the truck(old registration cards)? How are you able to find the previous owner through the dmv? I thought dmv can only answer yes or no on questions. Good luck.. Quote Link to comment
matwood
AHOY! I got it taken care of! Thanks Datsunaholic, L521XXXXXX was the ticket. @ 67411 - NM DMV is very relaxed. They got me the name and the address of the title holder and she is going to go to the DMV tomorrow with me to put it in my name! Thanks a bunch for being so quick guys! -Madison Quote Link to comment
