drastic520
whats up everyone! in desperate need of a driveshaft for my 520. anyone out there with some help? or even any alternatives? i took it to get fixed but was told they couldnt weld it cuz it was weak. the rear part of it broke. i had the rear half of a 720 and they looked the same so i was going to have them cut the end of the 720 and weld it to mine. anyone knows what else i can do? Pacific coast Datsun
So the part that bolts to the rear end is broken? Maybe a 521 shaft will have the same bolt pattern, if ness. cut off the end of the 521 shaft & have it welded on. Link to comment
drastic520
yeah thats the part. the 720 also is the same pattern. thats what i was having done but they said it was a lil too weak to weld. i think they were trying to take me for a ride. Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Try another shop. I shortened the driveshaft on my 521 when i did the 5 speed swap & re-welded it myself with no issues. I cut & re-welded near the end [next to the trans.]... Link to comment
tdaaj
ive got one for $40 for the entire driveshaft - from tranny to rear axle shipping costs not included in that ;) Link to comment
