Just Joel
I found a set of SU carbs for an A15 complete with manifold and air cleaner... Other than the manifold, are these the same size carbs used on the L series motors? I don't have a picture but I'm hoping the general application will be enough to gather a response. How hard is it to find a manifold for an L series if these work out? Also, the motor has an EI dizzy Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If they are Hitachi carbs, they are the same size at 38mm, but the fitting maybe slightly different. No big deal. Details are here: Hitachi Twin Carb. Pictures too. The A-series distributor is quite a bit different from L-series I will trade you an L16 factory twin hitachi manifold for the A15 twin hitachi manifold. Quote Link to comment
LenRobertson
According to this site, under the "Donor Sources" section: http://web.archive.org/web/20050312092651/home.att.net/~jason510/Dizzy_FAQ.htm "...some 210 "A" series motors also used the same style of desireable dizzy". However, as Jason explains, the A-series drive gear must be changed to the L-series tang style drive. I think the change is easy, if you have the tang drive piece. Maybe if you post a pic of your dist. someone can tell you if it will work on an L series. Len Quote Link to comment
Just Joel
Hmmm, I'm considering just selling these and starting with a proper setup for my car... What Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
I'll trade your for a complete set of L16 factory twin carbs & manifold, clean condition (though not polished). I only have A14 and A12 engine, so could use the A15 set. Quote Link to comment
