You would need to cut the L20B main bearing journals down to 2.1631" in order to fit the L18. In addition you would need custom 126.75mm long rods so that the 4mm stroke increase does not shove the L18 pistons up into the head. L18 rods are 130.2mm. You would now have made an L20B the hard way, in displacement anyway. The bad thing is that the stroke was increased and the rod length shortened. This moves the piston closer to the crank and when the crank arm and the rod are at 90 degrees, the piston is so low it is being pulled sideways slightly.. not good. This is why Nissan increased the height of the L20B by 2cm over the L18, to allow 145.9mm rods to avoid this.
