But he wasnt sure, he bought it in the car...How can I tell if it a Z tranny and also will my stock driveline hook up....74 620 w/ the L18 Quote Link to comment

'Course the 5spd could have been swapped into that car from somewhere else. The tranny could still have the z car tranny mount on it, but it only means it might have come out of a z car. If it came out of a z and not a zx car then the tranny is identical to the '77-'78 620 truck, gear ratios and everything. So calling it a z tranny doesn't mean much as all '77-'78 trucks could also say that. Quote Link to comment
