Skib
kind of a stupid question :P but how do I wire it up? obviously ones for a power and ones a ground. Im assuming the power goes to a post on the alt. but which one? Edited September 15, 2009 by Skib Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
My 720 4X4 volt gauge just connects to any 12 volt line from the fuse box. Quote Link to comment
Skib
ya the gauge itself just goes to a constant 12v and a ground, but mine has a red "charge" light on it also that Im not %100 how to wire. Im thinking it goes to a post on the alt. to show that the alt. is putting out power Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Hmmm most have one wire to the alt output and the other to the battery positive. With 12 volts on each side of the light it does not light up. If the battery should fail or the alternator stop charging, current will flow from the side with power to the side without and light the light. Make sense  On the alt its the wire going to the vertical terminal of the T shaped plastic plug. On the alt. it's the N terminal. This output goes to the red charge light. The other side goes to fuse box side that is switched on by the ignition. Quote Link to comment
