mystery wires, please identify

can someone identify these wires, they are on my 77 620, i have looked on the wiring diagram and can only find red and black wires that go to things like the headlights or cig lighter, the only electrical component on the truck that doesnt works is the reverse switch, could that be where these wires go? the wires come out of the harness down by the starter, they also have a white tag on them with numbers and stuff

i get 12 volts power to the wire with the connector when the keyswitch is on

Yes it's most likely the wires for the back up lights. Twist together and turn key on. Look and see if reverse lights are on.

thanks, thats what it was, thats what i thought it was but it was pouring outside so i thought i would ask
