nbesheer
Hey so I have a locking fuel cap on the '74 610 2-Door. Anyways it doesn't seal and all my fuel evaporates. Everywhere I go to get a new one is the same cap and it doesn't fit my car at all. So I've come to the conclusion that my set up is not stock since the filler hoses have a metal piece connecting them that does not look stock. So is there an easy way to get back to the original on or make a new set up or something ? BTW I know this probably makes little to no sense. Quote Link to comment

GrUveeDat
Have U tried a Stant cap?;) Those have seemed to work for me before. They make one specifically for the 610 application:D Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
Yeah I tried but it physically doesn't fit. Anyways I finially retrieved my camera and I'll try to get the photos tomorrow. Quote Link to comment
zerow
More of the P.O. finding a Datsun part and putting on your car... He neglected the fact that there are many Datsun models, and not all parts interchange  Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
Alright here are the photos that I have taken of the fuel stuff. So what are your thoughts on this mess ? Yeah that thing welded on there must be for some blow off valve or something haha Quote Link to comment
zerow
My first thoughts??? FAIL! The fuel cap is waaaay different. That stuff looks questionable. I'll bring my spare over, and you can check it against the plumbing that (other than the welded stuff) appears stock. Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
Yeah I do not know what is going on. But this is one step closer to getting motivated on this car again. I purchased wheel cylinders last pay check :) Quote Link to comment
GrUveeDat
What the heck is that welded on growth? Looks like some sort of tumor! Very strange.......otherwise looks like a stock fuel cap should work or a stant locking one for a 610:confused: Quote Link to comment
nbesheer
I am not sure what the problem was when the Stant cap but it did not work at all. Quote Link to comment
