MindlissMetalfab
Just wondering if anyone has part numbers or knows where I can get gaskets and seals for this transmission. Its out of a 75 620 as far as I know, (its in my 68). I'm currently having it overhauled, and the guy doing the work cant seem to find the seals. I hit up the local parts place, and they could only reference the input and output seals. I still need a pan gasket, tailhousing gasket and a front release bearing cover gasket. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I can look those up easily when I get home. Pan gasket??? Are you saying you have a botton removable pan on this tranny? Can you post a picture of it so I can identify it??? Quote Link to comment
MindlissMetalfab
Just rambling off the list from the guy I have overhauling it. 'Bottom Pan gasket" was what he told me. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
F4W71B's don't have pans. The transmission pictured is a F4W63. A very different beast, and not from a '75 620 at all. '73 or earlier L16 transmission (well, some early '74s built in '73 had them as well) Quote Link to comment
MindlissMetalfab
The mechanic working on it got me a part # off of the synchro ring that needed replacing (32605-P0100). I brought that # to the dealership, and he referenced it to the F4W71B transmission. so HOPEFULLY my synchro ring is right at least, since that # came off the part itself. Perhaps the tranmissions used the same synchro rings? The truck is a 68, but someone had nogged in an Lseries motor and this trans. uggh what a mess. datzenmike
Yep F4W63, it's why I asked about the pan. The cork gasket for a '68 with L motor is 32162 14810. This is the same gasket used on the 510 4spd. There is no 32605 P0100 but there is a 32604 P0100 balk ring used on your tranny and also the F4W71B and the FS5W71B 5spd. The part I got is the 32604 P0100. The rear seal I got ended up being right, and I got the size number off the front seal yesterday. I also found the full list of part #s and diagrams on http://www.olddatsuns.com/620tech. So hopefully I can find the rest of the parts i need! Thanks guys, this forum is definitely a good one!
