Need a bit more rear suspension travel on the KC - anybody had experience

with any of the prefabbed "C-Notch" kits? Search didn't find any threads discussing the topic.

 

I'm not real comfortable with the idea of a "bolt-on" kit, but it appears that starting with a bolt-on kit and welding it in would save a fair amount of fabrication time and effort. I'm not looking for an extreme drop, and have NO plans to cut the bed - just want to add another inch & a half of suspension travel before the rear axle hits the bump stops..........

I think it would just be cheaper and easier to buy a short length of 5" pipe or so, and welding it in instead of buying a bolt in c-notch meant for another truck.

Agreed^^ I cant think of a bolt in kit that would come close to fitting nicely under a 620. Most modern frames are not boxed in that rear section and bolt in notches are built around that. 620's have a boxed rear frame section and a piece of 5 inch pipe would do the trick. Make sure you trust the person behind the welder.:D

Anybody have pics? Im thinking about doing the same thing and just running some 3/8in plate right up to the underside of the bed so I can get max stuff with ought hacking holes into my bed.
