l20b and dogleg in my 510

Recommended Posts

Just some pics of my motor being assembled. I am trying to take the time to do a clean job so theres less to do later. I said screw it and tore out the auto tranny and went with a dogleg 5 speed. W53 peanut head port matched to ported l16 intake. Stock l16 exhaust mani that will be getting 2" pipe into a borla muffler. Weber down draft for now maybe 40mm weber down or most likely the twin mikunis eventually. I know I will get some shit for the color but I think its cool.:fu:

Got it fired off today. No exhaust on it but at least fired it up for a minute. Sounds like a boat out of water..Didnt want to blast out the neighbors too bad. I still need to do the exhaust and get some 510 pedals but I have the clutch hydraulics functional, cooling system is tight,no smoking ,knocking or ticking so it all looks great. I cant wait to drive it with the 5 speed.

The studs in my exhaust mani were shot so I pulled it and put on a 510 big tube header that I previously modified to fit the truck. Lucky it still fits but I still need some pipe. I scabbed on some pieces and a borla muffler and it sounds mean! I will have to tame it down since I will be using it as a daily driver soon. The dogleg is freakin tight too.
