oldsklminitrk
Hey I keep seeing this post about making the Saturn 90 amp alternator work....Well I went out and got a 83 Datsun 720 alternator and it bolted right up.Granted its not 90 amps.....but it bolts up and its 55 amps vs the factory 35 amp one.I run a gel cell Maxda Miata battery and its plenty of juice to keep it running.Thought I throw this out there for everyone instead of doing the Saturn upgrade. fastdadd
i did the same thing...i had to take a grinder to the idler but if i had a shorter belt it would have been fine...works well in my truck Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, but the 35A also has plenty of juice to keep a gel cell running... so what is the point of fitting a 50A? Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
For that you should go for the 90A Quote Link to comment
oldsklminitrk
prolly for a stereo system or the air compressors. Yeah when my compressor kicks on with the stereo on the volts drop to about 10.5 volts now with this I can have the lights on the stereo playing and the compressor running and it wont drop below 12.2 volts.
