240ADAM Posted April 24, 2009 Report Share Posted April 24, 2009 You need to get a mechanical speedo drive out of a 280zx 5speed. Its one ten mili bolt and pull it out, then swap that one in for your electric speedo drive on your tranny. Hook up your cable and go, you might have to mess with different gears on the drive unit to get accurate speed. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted April 24, 2009 Report Share Posted April 24, 2009 It will have to be from a tranny made after 1980 from an S110, or S12 to '86.5, 280zx, (probably non-turbo) 720 truck gas or diesel, (if you find a 4X4 look on the transfer case) or Maxima gas or diesel. Make sure that the 10mm bolt that holds the key in place is to the bottom of the speedo drive. Quote Link to comment
