spottedog
After putting LZ24 back together after head work, I have no fuel from the secondary venturi. Looking down into it with a flashlight while goosing it with the throttle cable off I can see a nice spray from the primary, but when the secondary butterfly opens there is no fuel spray. When this happens it of course goes really lean, while looking down the carb while goosing it it went lean and backfired through the carb, nice little explosion with large flash! No injury, but I thought about checking my shorts just in case. Is there a common failure I should look for in the carb? Quote Link to comment
Phlebmaster
Check your secondary jet to make sure nothing got lodged in it. Paint on some new eyebrows. :D Quote Link to comment
Farmer Joe
well with a properly working carb, you shouldnt see any fuel spray from the venturis under throttle. i think the squirt that your seeing from the primary is the accelerator pump working. if its popping out of the carb when you hit the throttle, you might check your valve adjustments, or timing. and a pop with a flame usually mean your gettin plenty of fuel. philcas1987
The venturi in these carburators can go in ither way. You might have put it in backwards. Causing no fuel to go through Quote Link to comment
spottedog
It turned out to be "milky white" crud of some kind blocking the secondary main jet. This stuff was not actually solid, it blew out easily with compressed air. Quote Link to comment
