z car electrical Q's

Recommended Posts

alright, the deal is a guy i have worked for before, has a z that needs some work. i THINK, its a 240. i cant remember off hand though. well it has a chevy 327 in it so that MAY be part of the problem. but backt o the issues, headlights, heater fan, wipers and tach dont work. are ANY of those connected to a common ground point??? i know MOST electrical issues are bad ground. i have VWs so i know ground issues. also where would those grounds be situated???

thanks guys!

Make sure there is a good ground tio the body sheet metal as well as to the block

Headlights come from the battery through a seperate fusible link to the fuse box and switches and does not needthe ignition key on, The ignition sw has a seperate fusible link to power up the heater/wipers etc.

well i looked at it today. the wipers were stuck as the car hasn't seen rain in years, the headlights need a switch but now work if ya fiddle with the switch, heaterfan was bypassed to an onoff switch, and the tach isn't hooked up. all in all an easy fix IF we can get a couple parts.
