  1. Oh, thanks for the help! I didn't know the sender was mounted differently at all. I'll try the dealer.
  2. Can anybody confirm if a sedan and wagon use the same sender?
  3. Need a fuel sender in good working condition, shipped to 98370 or I can pick it up if your in with in an hour or so of sub base Bangor. I have a 71. I can trade a match box dizzy with an E12-80 module. The dizzy's stator and reluctor need a cleaning.
  4. The PO must have broke the fuel sending unit because one terminal is a bolt that's been expoxy'd. So I'm SOL can I swap one out of maybe a 240Z or B210? Maybe a 710 with an carbed L20? Looking for something I can fix this weekend. No fuel gauge wouldn't be too big a deal expect my odometer stopped working too, lol.
  5. So I figured I'd post a follow up. In the end I fixed up the stuff I had. My linkage was completely frozen, and when I pulled the motor I couldn't move the linkage no matter how much force I put on the arms, not the wiper arms but the actual linkage arms. I had to press the wiper shaft out of the pedestal, in doing so I broke the pedestal into a couple of peices. Luckily I was able to weld it back together, word of advice clean the shit out of the pedestal if you ever need to weld one. I brushed, sanded, scoured and greased every single part that moves and replaced all the c clips. I also cleaned up all of the terminals in the motor and added a little grease. I've got to say I was really impressed with how fast the wipers move! I mean it's not like today's brand new cars but they are pretty quick, not at all slow and slower.
  6. Thanks for the offer but I got everything working.
  7. Thanks for the link. I actually fixed everything yesterday, haven't installed it yet though. There were alot of problems, I broke the frozen pedestal and had to weld it up for one. I'm too embarrassed to show the weld but let's just say I won't try to weld 40yr old grimey as fuck cast aluminum in hurry the next time around.
  8. Wiper linkage? I only need the passenger side pedestal and shaft so if the rest is crap that's not a problem. Shipped to 98370
  9. I'm actually only looking for the pedestal and shaft mount on the passenger side everything else is re-usable. I'm hoping somebody local to the Puget sound can help me since I'm hoping to have my car up and running in the rain.... Of course I won't discriminate as I need the parts. Let me know.
  10. Looks like thats what I'm gonna end up doing, I was hoping I could get it fixed this weekend. For the record B210 won't work and a Z car has the wiper shafts mounted too high, this could be made to work with some work IMO. I'm going to try one last attempt when I get to work and can use the press and a welder.
  11. Thanks, I was thinking more like could I swap in a B210 or 1200 linkage? I doubt it but I can't find any local 510's with linkage so I'm getting desperate.
  12. Are any other models wiper linkage swappable? I have a 71 and while trying to recondition one of the splined wiper shafts the arm and shaft stripped out, the shaft is still frozen to the mount. I tried to search with no luck, I should mention I live in Washington and I needs dem wipers to work.
  13. I'd have to pull out my suspension books to double check but didn't mounting the anti sway bar further away from the control arms decrease the effective stiffness? I know the length of the bend has a direct effect, just trying to get an idea of how stuff those front ends are since I'm thinking it can't be double the rate, especially on that under rider set up.
  14. Maybe its some kind of way to get more rebound??? Couldn't afford a big sway bar I guess....idk
  15. I'm on the celly so posting links is a bitch but if you go to page 40 or so of the goons check in thread there is some discussion about this very topic with links. I'm planing to do the same when I get the parts lined up.
  16. I've been looking into this as well, a real bitch to find legit info on hp numbers with carbs. There is a guy who goes by greaser on fresh alloy that has done the most work I can find but it's on a ka24de itb setup, similar.... From what I can find there are no backed up numbers with a carb setup. Anyway o&j performance has cams for the ka24e but no real info on performance, like dyno sheets.
  17. Looked in a few JY's today but didn't find anything that I could tinker with. I'm thinking I'll try to weld up something custom if I can find the parts for cheap, if not I'll sell off this motor and pick up a KA24E/DE and go with the cheapest carb set up I can.
  18. Just found this Altima and 240sx online manual. http://arrc.epnet.com/autoapp/8970/8970.htm#8970CH03_REMOVAL___INSTALLATIO2.htm
  19. Snuck in there with some edits while I was replying... I'm hoping to frankenstein the Frontier and Altima cover get the oiling and the dizzy from the Frontier. I'm guessing the oil gallies are the same on both blocks as I don't see Nissan, king of the parts bin, spending money on casting a new block. Could be wrong though. I have thought of taking 2 covers and cutting them up and welding them back up in some kind of way that I could avoid a trip to a machinist. So far I can only find gasket pics of the oil pans nothing that I can take a close look at and see if I can modify.
  20. Shiaaat. I've seen that but it was in a 240 so it wasn't an issue, I didn't think of that in a 510, that might kill it.
  21. Besides the dizzy being mounted to the head what else we be wing with it for what I plan to do? If I'm talking carb manifold and custom header I'm not seeing a problem. Of course there could be something else. I've seen that the double row timing chain on the de won't fit under the e cover, I might be able to put the e's single row chain onto the de and use the de's upper with some grinding.
  22. So I picked up a KA from a 99 Altima, yeah kinda jumped the gun... Anyway I was planning to turbo it but now I'm planing to use carbs coupled with a L series dizzy and Frontier timing cover. Turns out that just might save my ass on this build so I've got some Q's after some hours on the net. Anybody have a materials list I'll need to swap over to the Frontier front cover? Will the FWD bolt pattern bolt to a L series tranny? Input spline count going to work? I could probably answer this one now that I think about it.... Not positive though. Any thing I'm not thinking of? Possibly have to block off the Altima coolant lines. Any year Frontier with a KA will do right? Thanks!
  23. Need a L20 style tube for my L16, looking for something local to save a trip to the JY. Let me know
