oh i put fresh fluids in her changed the carb bled the brakes and the clutch put a new battery in her and she fired right up without any hesitation

so i finally getting around to posting pics sorry im kinda slow about getting this stuff done i will continue to post pics of it as i go along i need a stock bumper bad its got this nasty ass lookin tubular one on the front so if anyone knows where to pick one up u should let me know i have a stock bench for it that came with it its just sitting in the bed of the truck right now so what do u think?

so today i took my flatbed along with my girlfriend on a 5 hour each way drive haha to get a 1970 521 pretty stoked about the thing has had an l20b and 5 speed swap and a brand new clutch put in it all i need to do is bleed the clutch and throw one of my webers on it and she is good to go for $500 she even has good tires on her i will post some pics when i can get some good day light on her not a bad deal right?

it says w55 not a 3 or an 8 i will post some pictures tomorrow

im unsure if the ports are square or round the motor came out of a 79 620 kc and has emissions crap on it so it has been a slow process pulling it all apart

so i have a head labeled as a w55 can anyone tell me anything about it?

would she make the drive to the ashland area?

ok thanks i will go thru the vacuum system today and check everything and i set the carb to factory specs i just do know why it would be doing this because the motor was running before i put it in my truck it has to be something stupid that im over looking i know i will feel like a jack a$$ after i figure it out thanks again for the help dont know what i would do w/o fellow datsuners

checked the timing again and that is good wires are in correct order could there be a vacuum leak someplace that would cause this to happen?

all the plug wires are in the right order i will check the timing in a little bit and let u guys know right now this southern oregon heat is killing me thanks for the help

the timing was good when i pulled the motor and i didnt mess with it at all but i was wondering if that could be an issue but how would the timing get out of whack if i didnt mess with it?

title pretty much says it. i did a motor swap and the engine was running fine before the swap and now when i try to start it all i get is a backfire and no start the exhaust isnt hooked up at the moment so it sounds like a shotgun going off it is coming out of the exhaust for sure why is this happening? thanks dane

it is no longer spewing gas outthe top of the carb after replacing the float but it still wont start i will check my timing again

replaced the float still no luck i know i have spark i know its getting gas and im pretty sure its timed correctly wth is wrong with my truck

so the beast wont start ive timed the motor checked for spark its getting gas i dont know wtf is going on right now. its been so long since i have driven it and im starting to get pissed any thoughts? oh yeah gas just started shooting out the top of the carb when it wasnt a bit ago.

u could always mount your radiator in the bed ive seen that done before as for the intercooler im not sure what to tell u

well i had to search for ever to find a new windshield and then once i found a new one i had to find someone that had enough balls to cut it because its curved glass. the guy that cut it is a guy named mark at this place called breaker glass out of central point oregon i made a template out of plexi glass and he used my template for the cut it was $150 for the new windshield and $439 to have it cut and installed this was the most expensive part of the whole build but so worth it... no offense to anyone who has done the lexan windshield but they look like shit haha well worth it to spend the money on real glass. i pulled the posts back a little bit when i did it to "lay it back"

if u were in the medford ashland area and had the sheet metal to patch in i would be happy to weld it in there for you
