  7. my girlfriend owns a 79 king cab shes never afraid to get down and dirty and work on her rig i think its awesome that u know how to work on cars there need to be more chicks like u and her. over the last 2 days she sanded down her whole truck did the body work and got it painted. i have lots of respect for chicks like u
  8. its good that u already know someone who cuts glass when i did my chop i didnt think about the glass until after i had the top back on and then i had to search for days to find someone to cut it most people wont cut curved glass i had to go thru 3 windshields before it was successfully cut
  9. nice lookin chop man i have a 76 that i chopped the top on. what are u gonna do for the windshield?
  10. so i am a fool. i was talking to my girlfriends father about what it could be and he said to start by disconnecting the alternator and try from there. so i did and bingo bango no more smoke Ü thank you for all of your input
  11. i pulled the wires to the dome light and the dome light its self out when i did the chop those are the only wires that were running thru the front window pillars ive unwrapped the whole loom at this point and have checked for shorts on every inch of the wires if one of the relays in the dash was hooked up in the wrong spot could it cause it to happen? every fuse in the truck is new including the fusible link. i will check for corrosion on the box its self
  12. so awhile ago i did a chop to and abunch of other work to my 76 620 and i when i hooked all the wires back up and put a jumper box to it it started to smoke from the fusible link on the hot wire that goes to the fuse box. it only smokes right there and i have no idea why can any one help me with this i refuse to take it to a shop and im running out of time. has anyone encountered this problem before? any input is greatly appreciated i just dont know what to do ive put to much time and effort into this little thing to give up now
  13. wouldnt the L head cause it to have a little bit more torque as well
  14. yeah ive heard that u can put the head from an l20b on it is this true if so i have one and im not worried about a/c
  15. so i was thinking about getting a hardbody with a 2.4 and a 5 speed in it and was wondering how hard would it be to swap it into my 76 620 i would be getting the hardbody only for a parts truck if anyone has done the swap or knows anything about the swap and could give me a little insight that would be great
