  1. Thanks for the help guys. As of right now I have disconnected the harness for the cabin lamp and that seems to have done the trick. When I purchased the vehicle the light would not turn off so I removed the bulb., so removing that harness is no big deal. now the tail lights and dash lights work once more.
  2. I used some cleaner but no I don’t have any tail lights. Thing is my tail lights were causing some sort of parasitic drain on the battery, so I have to keep the fuse pulled to keep the battery charged. Thanks for the help.
  3. So my dash lights no longer work after a couple months of them working if I fiddled with the light stick. I pulled apart the steering hub thingy and unplugged the little harness in there (the one on the left behind and below the light activation lever). Only a couple of the circuits activated the test lamp. Can someone tell me which wire would correspond to the dash lights? It is an 84 720.
  4. I had my local mechanic check the belt after I replaced alternator so that shouldn’t be the issue, so I hooked up a charge tester to one of the battery wires and pulled fuzes until the circuit was closed. It ended being the taillights fuse. Thing is I don’t believe they were working anyways, my truck has a custom flatbed so I’m assuming there is a wiring problem there and will just rewire the taillights. I’ll check the volts on the battery and try to start the truck tomorrow and see if it is still draining. If not I will just rewire the lights.
  5. The battery has been draining while my truck is off. It wasn’t an issue until the truck sat a couple days while I was out of town, so I am assuming it’s a fairly slow drain. I just replaced the alternator a week ago. Any idea what it may be? Thanks for the help.

    84 720 tires

What would be decent mud tires I could throw on my stock rims? Thinking about tightening the t bars to get an inch lift in the front and slipping a block under the u bolts in the rear. I’m trying to get rid of the truck but there hasn’t been much interest in it so I’m trying to make it more marketable as an off-road vehicle.
  7. Thing is it has a flatbed, so no chance of ST sticker. The seats are fabric though and it has black mirrors. I don’t really have much of a reason to know I just saw an option for trim when I was listing the truck and got wondering what it might be. Thanks for info.
  8. I have an 84 720 that I am 90% is the sport truck trim but I wanted to be sure. it has the sun/moonroof, tach, clock, radio, 4x4, 5spd manual, but crank windows. Bucket seats too. Reg cab, reg bed.

    4bt Cummins swap

Yea I’m good, I’m not buying a motor worth more than my truck. I have been trying to find an SD series diesel but no luck. I will definitely not stoop to a Volkswagen. 4bts are usually fairly cheap which is why I originally thought it could be a good motor for a swap.

    720 rebuild

I have a z24 but I just ripped most the emissions control out. Runs like a top. Some would say it doesn’t affect performance so no point it getting rid of it, but I was swapping the carb and it all got in the way so I just pulled it out.
  11. It’s the original radio. I don’t have a picture to put here. Wiring is too scary for me to consider an aftermarket stereo lol.

    4bt Cummins swap

Has anyone tried to swap a 4bt into a 720? I can’t find an original nissan diesel motor so I wonder if a 4bt swap would be possible.

    1984 720 fuse box

Where is the fuse box on the regular cab 84 720? I was attempting to get my Bluetooth adapter to work in the cigarette lighter and some sparks flew out of it. Now my radio is dead.
  14. I don’t know anything about fuel injection and I am close to purchasing two 300zx, both naturally aspirated. What can I do to make them run better, be a bit faster, and over all some quality tlc.
