Wanting to buy a 71B 5spd from a 720 w/ Z20-22 motor to put into the 620 kc. Can't I just put the L motor bell housing on the 720 trans???

I suppose you might be able to put the older 620 5 spd. case on the 720 5 spd. tranny, would need to look into the shifting rod sizes first, your 620 5 speed bad?

Why don't you just look around for a 1980 720 5 speed, it already has the L block housing on it.

ya my friend's 620's trans is busted. I'm gonna check out the '80 at PnP, but if it's no good I may have to buy the '82 trans.
