Here's the article Scirocco Radiator Swap
You will have to fab up your own brackets, and also make sure that the filler neck is not higher than the stock one.
I got the radiator through Schucks.
Found me a little red 72 521. The wiring harness has been pulled out of the engine compartment, but he still has it and it's complete.
That's not too big of a chore to install. So I'm headed down on Sat (work schedule interferes with any time sooner), and will hopefully be buying it as long as nobody else gets to it before me.
Thanks, Patrick
When I had my 521, I put in a scirocco radiator. Cost me about $120 I think. I did this a few years back. Worked great. I think I heard about this from some 510 guys.
Moved back to the west coast a few months ago. Was gone for a couple of years. I'm back in the great PNW.
Thinking about getting another 521. I've seen a few on CL, anyone know of where else I could look?

72 521
This is my old 72 521.
Apparently a little body work and a paint job makes it worth a whole lot more.... (kinda like those chrome valve covers are good for an extra 50hp).
I spoke with the guy today, and he insists that he gets the money out of it that he put into it (that rarely ever happens).
He told me he needs $2,000 for it and won't take less.
I'm using a scirocco radiator.
Works great. I just built a couple of angle brackets for it to set on. Bolted them to the core support.
That way the filler is the highest point of the cooling system (keeps air pockets out).

OK, tore up the 4spd in the 521 (tailshaft housing is shattered).
I have a choice of going with either a dogleg, or a truck 5spd.
Which would be better (stronger)?
Shane, I'll be by this weekend.
As far as plans for it go.... The only thing Datsun that will be left of it, will be the body and bed
I'll be building a new frame for it, and dropping in a small block Ford.
The cab and bed will be highly modified, but still look like a 521. And it will lay out.
I'm going to be having a rendering drawn up for it soon.
