I am going to have a body shop completly cut out the bottom of my bed which is getting so rusty at this point I can make holes in it just about anywhere. I am going to have them replace it all with new sheet metal and weld it in. I am hoping to get this done this month coming up. I will take some before and fter pics when I do it.

Today I put new rubber pads on the pedals and also put new kick panels over the speakers that I picked up on ebay a while ago. They are real nice. Brand new in the box, and they are made from plastic instaed of this terrible thin carboard type of material trhat was used when my truck was made. The origainal kick panels were all torn up and were just wasting away. Now I have nice new kick panels to cover my speakers! I am so happy!

I looked at the rust in my bed and was thinking about weather I should fix the air conditioning first since it is so hot ( I live in Florida ) or if I should start getting the rust taken care of. I did not drive it today though. Tommorow I am going to put my new rubber pads I got on ebay for the pedals in the truck.

I will try the tyorsion bar thing first. It seems to be rubbing at the fenders when I turn the wheel kind of sharp, besides that it does not rub. I dont understand why I just changed out the tires . I kept them the same size , just a different brand. Maybe it was becuase the new tires have alot more tread than the older ones ? They have a lift kit for about $160 I found on the net. I wonder how much it would cost to have someone install it ? It is definatly out of my league as far as my mechanical skills !

I have 15" stock wheels on my 720 4x4. I have read in several places you can put 30x9.5x15" without them rubbing. The tires that were on the truck when I bought it were also the same size and they did not rub at all. Well last week I bought new Bridgestone Legacy A/T 30x 9.5 x 15's and sure eneough these tires rub a but when I cut the wheel either way at a certain spot. On one of the websites it even goes to say that you can put the 31/x 10x15 and they will rub just a little bit. So what do any of you guys think may be causing the problem ? I did notice these tires do have alot of tread on them and the tread seems to stick up pretty high. so any help would be great. I have looked into lift kits , and I found one that I want to say is a 3" lift that says it will not change any of the trucks geometry or characteristics as far as tipping and handling. Should I look into the lifty kit which is only $130 bucks , or is there any other adjustments I may be able to make at a lesser cost ?

the truck looks beautiful. How much did you pay for it, and how does it run ? I wish I could have found a 720 in that good of shape to start with. I have put about $3000 into my truck so far and I have it runnning perfect, except I still need to get the a/c going and I need to get some body work done becuase of dents and rust! I paid $1500 for mine.

I am looking for a bed that is not rusted out. The one I have is already on its last legs. I am also rebuilding the a/c system, I really need a condensor first, the compressor i have still works, after that I will probally need a drier/reciever and then who knows what else. I also need a Nissan emlem for the rt. passenger side fender. So if anyone can help shoot me a message.

What would you guys suggest to do if the bed you had on a 720 was pretty rusted. It has the usual rust lines going down the side, and the inside of the bed has some rust through spots that I could probally push right through. Can it be fixed by a body shop and repained, or are their other options ?

I have the original seats in the truck now, but they are falling apart. They have ripped and the springs are coming up , so I just threw some seat covers over them as a quick fix. Can anyone suggest what kind of bucket seats would be easy to get to put in the truck ? I dont mid what car they come from as long as they are comfy. ( I take long road trips) ! Any suggestions ?????? I have an 83 king cab 4x4 if that helps. I also just picked up some brand new speaker kick panel covers for the truck. With some cutting does anyone know if I can fit 6 1/2s in there ? They are made for 4" speakers and sound like shit. I also noticed up near the A pillars ( above the headrest on the sides) it looks like there might be some tiny speakers under there because there are little holes that look like they are to let sound through for a speaker. Iff this is a speaker mounting area, what size goes in there ? It has to be pretty small. I bet just a set of tweeters will be perfect for there anyways! I am going all out fixing the stereo, I am going with a 10"woofer for the back, and a nice 4 channel amp. I am also going to go with satellite radio . Time to bring the truck into this century!

I am about to buy new wheels and tires for my 1983 720 series kingcab 4x4. What is the biggest I can go without them rubbing ? I also need the proper offset too so they will fit correctly. Also what gives you a better ride, bigger tires and smaller whells, or bigger wheels and lower profile tires ?

Metro pcs for the wife $45 , too bad I have Sprint and still have another year on my contract. I get unlimited everything for $99 a month, but after taxes and all the B.S. charges I end up paying about $135 a month! It is still great compared to what we used to pay years ago. Remeber peak and off preak pricing ? Then you had just a plain old service fee which was about $20-$30 a month which did not include any minutes. Back then I knew plenty of business people that would get $1500 a monthy phone bills , but this was back in the early 90's. The biggest bill I ever got was about $400. I am glad those days are over. The thing I love about sprint is you get the NFL network for free on the everything plan for $99 a month.

I can get just one side that is a vented brake rotor for an 83 720 pickup . Brand new made by Nissan in the box for $5. Since they only have 1 side, is it going to be hard to find something that matches it so I can install it, or should I not worry about getting it since it does not come as a pair. I just need to know basicly if I can go to a parts store and get the same thing ?

Either the screw needs to be turned down or the the throtttle CABLE IS STICKING.

I just found out the carberator is made by some other company , and all it has is a sticker on the chocke that says WEBER on it. Is there any truth to this ? I was told this today by another company selling WEBER carbs today. He said that the 44 DGEC is just a cheap carb that Weber Direct is selling as a Weber Carb. I am going to get to the bottom of this on monday when the place opens, becuase if so that will explain all the problems I have been having with my carb up until today when it was finally fixed properly by having it rejetted. Now it seems to have opened up all the horsepower in my engine, and has gottten rid of the hesitation. The jets that were in the card wwere too small for the carb , (or at least my application) . I am mad!

I just took a 100 mile trip on the highway yesterday in my 1983 720 4x4 wit the Z-24 engine , so I thought I would test out how many miles I was getting per gallon. I was on the highway pushing the engine a bit doing mostly about 75 mph the whole way. I still managed right at 25 mpg. To me I was real happy, becuase before I did all the work I have on my engine I was lucky to get about 10 mpg. I imagine If i was going at a slower speed , lets say closer to 65, I would have gotten much better !

If you go on ebay there is always dash caps that fit perfectly over your old cracked dash . They come in blue or brown to match the old ones. They only cost about $70 bucks. I always see it on there.

I have an 83 720 4x4 ,2.4 liter engine. I have the nissan emblem for the driver side, but it is missing the one for the passenger side. Does anyone have an extra one, or maybe one for sale ?

I was thinking of bringing to this one local guy that is a pro at wiring with just about all cars made. Maybe he can figure it out.

I bought a dash cover from dashmat. It was like $30 bucks. Plus they sent me an extra one by accident. The colors even match perfect. I am happy with it!

I have a set of 4, but they are 5 lugs not 4.
