  1. I have some PMs out about possible bench seats. Again I thank you guys for all the help. Its rough being a big kid in a small truck :P
  2. I liked the concet though and the idea of moar lowwwrrr! for leg room makes me a happy camper. If only the roads weren't so bad around here I would slam it as low as possible. Alas, I think a 2" drop may be it, at most 3". I used to hit everything in my B2200 and it was only 3.5" with a slight c-notch.
  3. Haha, I don't remember that happening on my B2200. Datsun magic maybe? All I remember is lowring my truck then beaning the hell out of my knee for two weeks straight until I figured out how to get in it :P

    datsun 620

A nice pin stripe would really set it off I think. Great looking truck.
  5. Will do, Thanks Dat Lurka.
  6. Awesome, thanks for the pics Datzenmike. I'll definately check for that pin before I make the purchase. I took a look at it today and I seem to remember the pin looking like the first pic, but I will check again in more detail.
  7. It has a lot of work to go. Gonna take off all the paint and run with gunmetal and a flat black hood I think. Also looking to static drop it just like yours :)
  8. I might try and meet up with you guys next time. I just bought my 74 620 yesterday in Morrow, Georgia. Drove it down 75S to Macon with one drum stopping it :P Its no where near as beautiful as this truck (not by a long shot) but I guess I have time to work on it :)
  9. The closest bench I can find with a quick search is 400 miles away, but they ship. Dropped them an email to see what I'm looking at price wise. If it is the same as the other SYs I'll be looking at $75+ shipping so maybe it won't be too bad. Thanks Eagle_Adam, I'll keep that in mind. Tomorrow I'll post a pick of the seats and one of me in the truck so you guys can laugh. Honestly it isn't hard for me to drive with the buckets, but long trips (3hrs+) might get painful since I was stiff after the hour and a half drive home. I just know that with the stock steering wheel I am going to be in trouble when I drop the truck unless I get more room. I am also going to look at steering wheel options but I want something ratrod-ish, maybe a nardi wooden or an old school leather wrapped one.
  10. Thanks for the quotes. I'll definately be contacting you in February.
  11. Loving that bench seat... I think you may have just made up my mind as far as seat options. Did you ever test fit the 620 seat? I don't think I can find the seat you used around here because most people with B2200s seem to keep them. I wish I still had the one out of my old B2200 even though it was beat up. If only I had invented those future vision goggles...
  12. Hah, Sometimes it stinks being tall. I'm a little over 6' but I'm also 250lbs so finding the right seat combo is a must.
  13. That is odd, I thought the bench would give me less room. I will try to source both and see which one is better. I honestly like the idea of buckets better but right now it is all about the leg room until I get the surgery to cut myself off at the knees :P
  14. I'm pretty sure a bench seat would make it impossible for me to get into the truck. My step dad picks on me because of how close my knees are to the dash in the buckets. I will look into the MR2 seats. Are we talking the 80s MR2s or the early 90s MR2s? I prefer something either without a head rest or with a removeable headrest but as long as the head rest is not built into the seat like some of the racing seats it should be fine. Eventually they will be upholstered over anyway :P
  15. Thant sounds awesome, sent a PM. Yea, if they are practically the same I'll stick with the manual. I just didn't know why the electric was cheaper :P
  16. Antoher strangely idiotic questions, anyone think this would work in a 620? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/vta-672001vhy/overview/ I know its not a great idea... I wouldn't even consider it if I didn't drive my son around a lot.
  17. Hey guys, new around here and I'm building up a 74 620 regular cab. I was wondering if anyone 6'+ has found decent seats for the reg cab. Right now don't have too many problems with the buckets that are in it (the look original) but once I lower the truck I can see some issues, Anything that sits a little lower and maybe has a thin back but still has some decent foam, ect should be good. If you guys want you can check out my build thread in the 620 section to see parts of the seats that are in it. I will try to take a pic of the seats only and post them here tomorrow so that you can get a better comparison.
  18. Question on the carb, I am guessing I am looking for a 32/36 with manual choke? I figure since my truck has a manual choke that is the one I need. If so the carb is only $199.95+shipping from webercarbsdirect.com They also have water choke and electric choke. And agian I spoke before clickign the next button... Sorry guys, looks like that site carries the ones specifically for our trucks for 249.95 (DGEV-IC Full install kit) and 279.95 (DGV Install kit). They also have a 38 but I don't think I need the 38. So which one would be prefered, the DGV or the DGEV-IC? If there isn't much of a difference I am going to go with the manual choke. Only ever had one other carb vehicle and I can't remember what it had (89 mazda B2200)
  19. Nice man, do you have the gas pedal assembly? As you can see mine is kinda messed up.
  20. Just noticed I haven't done any head shots for the truck, Here is the front end in all its glory. Thanks again Adam for sending me the new grille, can't wait to replace this one. Forgot to add that the previous owner decided it was a good idea to use silver tape to make the stripes, as soon as I get a rattle can the silver tape is gone.
  21. MOAR! More pics for you guys, I think my gas pedel or bracket is bent to hell which was why I couldn't get above 65mph on flat road, let me know what youu guys think. After pressing the gas, straight shot Side shot before pressing gas Please disregard any possible toe shots :P
  22. Post will be removed, don't want to step on any toes.
  23. Post removed, meant to post this in my build thread not the trans thread.
  24. I may try to find a good panel, I would rather not have bondo on the truck at all. I know when done right it can look decent but I prefer the real deal. I will look more into the carb, I know the filter will be replaced this weekend so I will get a larger size for now. Hopefully I can find a decent weber on here, there was one up for 200 but needs a rebuild and I don't know anyone I trust to work on it. Yea that blue has to go. The under body and frame has all been painted a light gray primer, so I may try to paint the bay the same. I have sourced a 5-speed that I may pick up next month, if so we can try to paint the bay when I pull the engine. I want to be able to see everything so pulling the engine to replace the tranny may seem strange, but if it lets me check all of the seal ect on the engine I think it will be worth it. I am having a hell of a time trying to remove the gauges. Has anyone done a write up on this including pictures? I have seen plenty of detailed descriptions of the removal process but I really need pics if at all possible. If no write ups have been done, would one of you guys mind taking so quick pics of the areas where the screws/bolts need to be removed? I also have an aftermarket radio in it that I can't seem to remove and there isn't a lighter that I have seen, so many of the reference points in the descriptions are not there. Mainly what I need is a few pics of where the screws/bolts are located. Or if someone could take a pic of a dash from the 620 and draw some arrows to where the bolts should be. Thanks for all the help and hopefully we can get this truck buttoned up nicely :)
  25. Alright, as promised I have more pictures! The first set were the good, so I guess this is the bad. Dent fixed the wrong way on the bed. Closer look. Really bad paint under the hood. Crushed breather. Anyone know what carb this is? Half asleep atm but I can get more pics if needed. Bent latch bracket. Look real close and you can see the straight piece in the rectangle opening is bent almost vertical. Release wire not attached. Sorry for pbad pic but I'm taking pics on a camcorder (no camera :( ). If you look closely you can see that I am holding the end of the release cable. Edit, I just took a closer look at this pic. That plastic triangle piece to the right of the cable end is what it was attached to but it is broken. And that is about it. We were supposed to start the brake teardown today but my step dad is dipping out on me. He is afraid of getting a little wet and it is supposed to rain at some point some where within a 50 miles radius... What can I say, he is a wimp :P
