Okay it's been some time since i last posted something here. Well that going to change because rlater on tonit i will be posting some pictures. Most of them are from the interior rust and all that kind of stuff. Also yesterday i got to take the car to the painter so yeah i will be posting pictures of that too. Hope you start to like the progress. O and by the way i got new carpet for the car and some heat isolation.

So finaly today i might be able to get the car to my house. So i can start on fixing it when i finish helping my sister with her car. Anyone know were i can find some carburators that fit the r16 engine and the manifolds? Help would be muchly apriciated. Thanks

Okay my name is Julio I’m from Texas. I’m 15 years old and i have always been fascinated with all types of cars. But up to now I’m starting to work together with my dad on restoring cars. So that means this is my firs son and father project. The car we are restoring is a 1970 1600 Datsun with the r16 engine and 4 speed transmission. The car has some rust but not that bad due to the age it has. Up to now i have only seen 4 holes on the whole car and the biggest one is smaller than a penny. But i will have to change the floor panels because they have gotten rusty and weak and that is not so much of a big deal. The only parts I think I need from my point of view up to now will have to be the carbs and the carb manifold to have it running and the fuel pump. As none of them came with the car when purchased. Other than that i will have to do the normal like changing the interior carpet and seats re upholstering. My future plans for this car is to get it painted under and all around including the chassis. But that will be done by a car painter. Also the wiring will be changed and the grill will have to be homemade because i haven't found one. The engine has been renewed so that a + for me also the brakes and al the master from the clutch and brakes. Also the suspension was replaced with new ones. The car was bought for $830 us dollars and it think it was a good deal for all the new goodies it has. If you could please help me out how to post pictures here i will post some.

today i whent ahead and checked the engine. Appereantly i got a new gaskets and replaced parts in the engine. But im still in need of some carbs. Anyone know what car carb fits in the r16 engine? Help please

its the r16 engine and i need the carburators and exhaust and a little bit more parts but the engine is fine.

No i bought it from san antonio form a guy on craigslist. But im in need of parts of the engine. And i need him to answer me because im traveling to san antonio, texas from brownsville, texas and the gas is expensive. So that way on my way back to brownsville i could go to corpus christi, texas to pick up the complete engine.

Please respond fast if best by today 7/11/2012 because im looking to buy a 1970 roadster and need that engine to get some parts. Thankyou
