i took the valve stem caps off my volks for this same reason, people were stealing the caps!!!

People are dicks. And if you value your stuff, dont take shiny things into urban areas =(

Yikes...that bites. I better hide mine and only put them on when I wanna show them off. My Watanabe air valve caps were stolen when my car was parked a few years back, I didn't even think they'd steal such a small part but I guess nothing is safe!
