Description

1977 Datsun 620 Lil' Hustler.

I bought this from an extended family member.  Over the past 6 months I have been restoring it.  Truck had only a little surface rust which has been removed.  Brand new paint finish is a single stage stock color (Sunny Yellow) over urethane primer.

Engine is the original L20B 2.0 Liter with 81,000 miles on it.
Transmission is the original 4-speed F4W71 manual.
Both the engine and transmission work flawlessly.

Gas tank has been removed and cleaned.  It is rust free.
New brakes, including master cylinder and slave cylinders.
Carburetor has been rebuilt.
Electronic ignition has been installed (no points).

New American Racing 15" wheels and new touring tires.

New custom-made seat cover upholstery.
Original white headliner is in good shape.  No rips or tears.
Door cards are custom-made hardwood
AM FM Cassette deck (1970's).

All lights are original and working.
Emergency brake works.
Original spare jack and turning rod.
Starts and runs perfectly.
Does not smoke or burn oil.

Clean Title in hand

Spare parts included:
Original radiator (pinholes in top tank)
5-14" stock Datsun rims with good tires.
Door seals
Misc. emissions parts and pieces (removed)

Here is a list of everything that is not perfect on the truck:

Slow oil leak from the timing cover cover gasket.
Crack in the dash (filled with epoxy)
Original vinyl on seat bottom is torn along the seams on driver's side (under the new seat cover).
Windshield washers do not work
Door seals need replacing (I have a new set that comes with the truck)
Small occasional drip from the heater temp control valve
Missing one plastic knob on the heater selection arm

Note about the paint finish:
I have been painting cars for 30 years.  I did this job in my own paint room on a few weeks ago  There is almost no dust, and the flow is good.  There are some imperfections in the body panels that are factory stresses from spot welding, etc.  There are no drips, sags or dull areas in the paint.  It is just about as good as a garage single-stage paint job can get.  It is still flawless, no scratches, bumps or dings.  No touch-ups. It would definitely cost you north of $3,000.00 for the same job at a shop.

There are obviously age-related imperfections and wear with this 40+ year-old truck.  It has not had a frame-off rotisserie restoration.  That would cost you $30,000.00 plus. The parts are mostly original. The undercarriage shows wear and road grime.  It is a good truck useful for everyday or occasional driving.  It will not win any shows, but definitely turns a lot of heads.
