Schroeder6th
Looking to buy a complete L-16 Distributor/Pedestal/Adjusting Plate and O-Ring. Shipping to 21771. Thanks, Doc Hudson Link to comment
mklotz70
you might want to specify if you want a stock points dizzy or an EI(remote or matchbox). The points dizzies also had single and dual point versions. Link to comment
Schroeder6th
I'm replacing a EI [unclear about remote or matchbox] Car does have MSD/6A. Thanks for you help. Doc Link to comment
mklotz70
The matchbox has the module mounted on the side of the dizzy.....looks like the one datsunmike posted in your other thread(which I just found). The remote just has some wires hanging out. You can use that style and connect it to a GM ignition module....PacCoast did a write up on it. You can use the other pedestals, you just may have to drop the oil pump and reclock the dizzy drive. Hainz has some write up on that. Link to comment
mklotz70
..oh...just saw the msd listed......I've never run one, but if it will take a pulse rather than a ground signal, you can probably hook it straight up to the remote style dizzy ......just did a quick search....says the 6A can be triggered by points or a magnetic pickup......so you should be able to trigger it with the remote style. If you get a matchbox...I probably wouldn't bother with the msd. Some where in here is the wiring.... http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/PDFs/MSD%20Ignition%206series.pdf Link to comment
Schroeder6th
It was a "Matchbox", just found a picture prior to disasembly. Has module on the side and wires from MSD match ends of Distributor Wires. Thanks also for the wiring page. Regards, Doc Link to comment
