Sephakrid Posted August 19 Report Share Posted August 19 I just thought I'd post some pictures of the 1984 ECU my friend picked up from the junkyard recently. It's pretty simple on the inside, with what appears to be through-hole components throughout. Also, these early ECUs seem to have the inspection light toward the rear. Basically, you have to look from behind the driver's seat to see the light. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted August 19 Report Share Posted August 19 That's for a May '83 to May '84 California emissions King Cab and will have the ECC carburetor. This is as close as a carburetor can get to EFI. The inspection light may only be an indicator that the unit is on. Later Z24i which DID have TBI had a diagnostic mode and stored fault codes that were saved could be accessed to help diagnose running problems. 1 Quote Link to comment
