Wheel Cylinder parts?

i just got a 70 521, i ordered a new wheel cylinder, and it didnt come with the y shaped peice that the brake line and bleeder screw in to. the old line is frozen up on one side, and the bleeder on the other, so i need two of these peices but can't seem to find them anywhere. any ideas on where to get them, or even wheel cylinders that come with that peice if i have to?

Nissan dealer.

 

They will usually come apart by putting the block in a vise, and using Vice-Grips on the fittings. If you don't need the fittings, a small pipe wrench could be used.

thanks. any place i can get them online, or what to even call them? most dealerships have the same hours as my shop, so that gets a little complicated...

When I bought new front wheel cylinders, it came with the piece you are describing.

Where did you buy yours? Nissan will ship them right to your house.

i bought mine at advance auto. i'll try a napa peice, and if that doesnt work out i'll try a nissan dealer.

If you "try a nissan dealer" you probably won't get what you want. Instead, use a Nissan dealer known to be helpful with older parts. Nissanparts.cc is one mail order dealer network. The problem is you won't know if it includes that one part until you see it. I would try Schucks/Kragen/GrandAuto (partsamerica.com) or NAPA. See the part before you buy it, or ask the dealer if it has that piece.

 

At Nissan I would expect you could buy just that peice alone without a whole new cylinder.

Try warming up the "Y" with a propane torch a little then put the wrenches to it. Be careful not to get it to hot and be careful with fire.
