Amperage in lights.

Hello it's me again, I did the wiring with relays for the headlights but the inline fuse that I have for the lights keeps melting but doesn't pop. The wire is kinda hot as well so I would like to know if someone knows how much amps does the original 4x6 lights draw so i could buy new wire for the adequate power draw. I checked the connections and they weren't loose. I have all of them to one 25 amp relay since I did an rought estimate of 18 to 20 amps of draw (I know that wasn't the best thing to do lol). It melted my 20 amp fuse but yesterday I connected the dashboard lights to turn on with the headlight switch that I have too so I don't know if that was the reason for the fuse to melt since I don't know how much those little bulbs draw but I replaced it with an 25 amp fuse to see if that helps. so can I get help with that other question on the dash lights amp draw. Thanks!

The front and rear parking lamps, the side marker lamps and the license light lamps should be on their own 15 amp fuse.

The left side and right side headlamps should be on separate 10 amp fuses.

Halogen bulbs...

Inner or high beam 50 watts

Outer hi/low beam 35/35 watts

On high beam 50 + 35 = 85 watts or 7.08 amps so a 10 amp fuse is fine for each side. The fuse size should NEVER be a higher rating than the wire gauge amp rating.

Wire size...

A 20 gauge wire will handle 11 amps of current which is well above your 7 amps pre each side, but a 18 gauge will carry over 15 amps and there is less chance of a voltage drop dimming your lights. 16 gauge even better, handles 22 amps. 14 gauge over 30 amps.
