Sergio146
Hello, does anyone know how to take apart a cv axle to regressed for a 1980 darsun 720 4x4? I am in the process of restoring the cv axles, but just want to know of a way or procedure to look over. Quote Link to comment
bottomwatcher
You have to file down the "staked" splines then you can slide off the cv joint. The other end is unservicable and they are NLA. Luckily yours doesn't look too bad. Quote Link to comment
DwayneOxford
Never had 4wdNissan, figger they'd be like Subaru. FSM says "not serviceable" so I asked axle rebuilder how they did. He said they knock them off. Got a wire ring in groove that keeps the outer. I've re-booted several. I Clamp the axle vertically in big vice, put bucket with rags to catch under it, use brass hammer for drift and 4lb sledge and hit with CONVICTION!! You'll want to come up with new wire ring as the old will be damaged. The outer joint is tapered to easily go back on. Quote Link to comment
