That Ol 720
What exactly is the difference between a 83-85 Z24 vs a 86/89 Z24 engine?? are the engine mounts the same for both engines?? are the intake and exhaust manifolds interchangeable for both?? datzenmike
Biggest and pretty much the only difference would be carburetor (Z24) or EFI (Z24i) In April '85 the Z24i was an option that had throttle body injection and a crank angle sensor (CAS). The 720 ended in '86.5. From '86.5 only the Z24i was offered in the D21 Hardbody and the WD21 Pathfinder till '89. The engines are otherwise identical. The engine mounts might be specific to the 720 or the Hardbody frames. The Z24/Z24i exhaust manifolds are the same. Only the Z24i intakes swap. Carburetor intakes are totally different. The 720 Z24i throttle body parts are not all compatible with the D21 Z24i. 1 Quote Link to comment
