Is it Possible to Convert a 4 Plug Distributor to an 8 Plug ??

....by swapping out the Cap/Rotors ?

 

If not, why ?

I don't see why it would work. The 8 plug is wider than the 4 wire to make room for the extra plugs. This is a Z series 8 plug distributor?The Z rotor is screwed onto the distributor spindle and won't fir the L20B one.

 

If needing an 8 plug distributor get another from an '81-'82 Z22 720 or an '82-'83 S110 200sx or from another Z24.

 

Might be better to ask you what you want to accomplish as there may be a better way to do it.

 I need a new Vacuum Advance. There about $75 and it's probably easier (not sure to buy a used distributor w/vacuum advance on it and swap them out. Dunno......  ?? I'm trying to learn.

 

 Is it easier/cheaper to do it this way ?
