billyd
1984 Nissan 720 base two-wheel drive short bed I remember when I first started driving the truck when I turn the key to the own position I would hear the fuel pump kick on now the only time the fuel pump kicks on is when I turn the key like I'm going to crank it right there in the middle of before it starts spinning the motor I hear it kick on but then when it cranks up in a run till it runs out of gas cuz the fuel pump I don't think it's working unless the keys turn to that position what happened and why did it start doing this all of a sudden Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Have a read through this. There is a relay for the pump who's sole function is to turn the fuel pump off if the engine stops. Rather handy in an accident and fire. https://axleaddict.com/auto-repair/The-Datsun-and-Nissan-Pickup-Fuel-Pump-Relay-What-the-Haynes-Automotive-Repair-Manual-Wont-Tell-You 1 Quote Link to comment
