Assuming this is for the '83 and up 720

The frames are different.

Oil pans are different.

The 4x4 transmission* does not have a speedometer drive (driven from the transfer case) so a 2wd transmission* can be used in a 4x4 and the drive not used. The 4x4 transmission will work in a 2wd but there is no way to make the speedometer work.

* There are two different transmission lengths 26" and 31.5". They would have to match for length to swap.

Driveshafts are different.

Differential ratios are different.

Rear axles are different. 4X4 leaf springs mount on top of axle tubes.

Rear leaf springs are stiffer and flatter on the 4X4 but should swap to 2wd.

4X4 front suspension, steering, brakes different.

Front hood, fenders, cab (and all interior parts) and box will interchange. Cab will have hole in tunnel for transfer case shifter on the 4X4.

Front bumper and marker lights are black on 4X4 and chromed on 2wd.

4X4 grills are different but should swap.

Engines the same but oil pans different.
