oldguy68 Posted May 11, 2022 Report Share Posted May 11, 2022 Hey I'm putting the distributor back in a 2.4z and Ive got most of it done just wanted to check the clocking and find out what position or terminal it should be pointing at? Ive got the cam and crank timed just wanting the distributor position. can anyone help? right now I've got it at 1 intake. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike Posted May 11, 2022 Report Share Posted May 11, 2022 Set engine accurately to TDC on the number one cylinder compression stroke and look here... Note the tip of the oil pump/distributor drive spindle has a small and large side half moon. Distributor can only go in one way. If you do not have this orientation you will have to remover the oil pump and reposition the spindle. Try aligning the dots on the pump and the spindle first. The distributor rotor should be pointing at 9 o'clock intake one and 4 o'clock exhaust one. As viewed from the driver's fender Quote Link to comment
