Eric V
After installing a new master clutch cylinder on my son's '67 520 the flare fitting leaks. I think I may need to cut it back and re flare the end but I'm not sure if it is a single flare, or a double. Also, is the line size 3/16? Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
Flaring tip - Never cut brake tubing with a chop saw of cutoff wheel. Cut with a band saw or a hack saw, then true it up with a belt sander or a file. Cutting with a chop saw hardens the tip and can cause it to crack when flaring. Also, I have had problems with tubing these past couple years. There's a welded seam inside that, if not smoothed out, can cause a leak. I made a flare lapping tool to get the high spot out. Yet another tip, when flaring, don't flare all the way with the flaring tool. Go like 90% and let the remaining 10% happen when tightening the nut. A tiny bit of anti seize on the flare and threads will help with this. 3 Quote Link to comment
