H-BRATSON
Hey all. Just wondering what people are using as an alternative for the ignition relay on the 620s or if someone can direct me to a write up. Definitely would take any information I can get! Thank you! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I use these handy relays from most '80 and up Nissans. These are from a 720. The Black ones have the most options for use. Be sure to get the pig tail with wire for crimping or soldering. 2 coil wires. ground one side +12 on the other and the relay is energized. NO is normally open or in other words when relay is off there is no connection through the relay. NC is normally closed or there IS a connection through the relay when it is off and turning it on breaks the connection. COMM is common to the NC and NO. They are simple and foolproof, and reliable. Sealed better than the crimped on cans used previously. Free for the taking at wrecking yards. Bosch also makes one similar. Quote Link to comment
H-BRATSON
Thank you mike! Last question on this topic(gonna sound stupid), but how do I hook up the common? Weren’t they only 4 wire relays? Or am I sadly mistaken. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Common goes to what ever you want switched the other wire goes to either NO or NC depending if you want it switched ON or OFF. In this case ON. 1 Quote Link to comment
