ZeroTwo510
Hello everyone, new member here, new to the site and thought I'd share my daily driver. Bought this car back in 2015 and have enjoyed it ever since. It's a 1978 Datsun 510(A10) coupe(KHLA10) with an L20B and 3 speed auto transmission, stock mostly with the exception of a Weber 32/36 that I added and some 15x8 -12 Bart wheels with 205/50r15 Hankooks. Was sitting since like 2001 before I bought it and got it back on the road. Little L20 is still running like a champ, plan on later doing some suspension work and adding a 5 speed and making it a solid daily driver. Might do an engine swap later in the future (KA) but that's not on my mind at the moment. I'll be popping on here every now and then for some knowledge and help from you guys,I'll keep you guys posted on any mods I do. If anyone has any good tips on this particular chassis please share them with me like brake swaps, rear end swaps, suspension swaps, etc, anything will help. Here are some pictures of "Dutsy" as my gf likes to call it ? 3 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Better change the differential oil. Lord knows when it was done last and it's probably low anyway. Fill bung may not be sealing so spray clean with brake cleaner and keep an eye on it. Takes about 2 3/4 pints of GL-5. I wouldn't use synthetic as it's overkill on an old car and it's notorious for leaking past old seals. GL-5 is more than good enough. Very clean. I always say automatics are survivors. Kids can't 6K clutch dump or drift with them. Quote Link to comment
