CharlieMurphy
Ok, so where does the advanced port connect then? Does it go to the canister? Quote Link to comment

Usually a hose goes from it to one of those hard lines down over the front of the engine to near the distributor with a hose to the distributor and the charcoal canister. It connects to the vacuum advance on the side of the distributor and the charcoal canister. On the canister it only tells it the engine is running and to open the purge valve to remove the fumes but does not take part in it. Just a signal. Quote Link to comment
CharlieMurphy
So, would running a line to the canister be any help at all? The truck has been dying recently and back firing. I do know that the throttle cable has been sticking wide open and I need to replace the fuel pump relay. Quote Link to comment
